Stirling Castle is one of Scotland's greatest castles, probably the most famous especially since "Braveheart" with Mel Gibson. Stirling Castle and Sir William Wallace played a very prominent role in Scotland's struggle for independence. The castle standing today is recorded to have been built between 1370 and 1750 in various stages.
